Reach Out & Touch Faith: Gold Ankh Necklace + Weekly Update + January Recap

I love unique pieces of jewelry. Usually I find my favorite pieces in small independant vintage shops, like this ankh necklace. I found it at small little shop in Spokane called Veda Lux. I was visiting my family and got to spend the afternoon with my friend Liz.

If I find a big, chunky pendant necklace I usually have to have it, especially if it’s unique, and even more so if it has some historical or pagan context. I’m all about it.

Weekly Update

I am so excited that it’s actually light out at 5:00 PM! The winter can be so hard to capture outfit photos if you don’t live in the actual city and get home after dark if you’re not a full time blogger. I haven’t been feeling well so even if I have a moment when I work from home, I’m in sweats and haven’t showered when the light is good.

It’s been an odd week in terms of energy. At work, my team moved into individual offices as opposed to open space and while I’m looking forward to having what is basically a personal focus room, figuring out how this team dynamic works now is a whole new experience. I’ve never been in my own office. I’m looking forward to decorating and putting some lights up on the wall.

The thing I’m loving the most right now though? Being able to shut my door and turn the music on, without headphones. It really is the small things.

January Recap

Can’t believe it’s the end of January already, but also, I’m ready for spring. Begone winter. I exceeded in a few of my goals this month and failed miserably in others.

I read 5 books this month. I set a goal of 22 for the year and it would be great if I could keep up this pace.

I put myself on a spending ban: no clothes, shoes or beauty products and I succeeded! It was actually really difficult and I realized how often I am online just browsing online shops because I’m bored. I’m going for round 2 with my friend Colleen for the month of February. Let’s see if I can make it that long. I want some more Dr. Martens.

I didn’t make it to barre at all this month. Mostly dealing with post-vacation lack of motivation and I haven’t been feeling 100%. Misdiagnosed twice at urgent care, I was given antibiotics both times in December, only to finally be given a correct diagnosis with the correct antibiotics in January. I don’t like to just take antibiotics either so the fact that I had two rounds of unnecessary treatment really bothers me and I know I’m all out of whack because of that.

Here’s to a healthier February. Pure Barre, I’m coming for you.

xx
