A Darker Tone: Spring Outfit

I am not one of those people who is into bright colors. There was a hot second when a friend who was a fashion designer commented on my all black and grey wardrobe and told me I needed more color. I tried it. I liked it for a bit. But then I started dying my hair outrageously bright pinks and reds and I slid back into my life of black, gray, and darker colors. I’m 100% okay with that now. So spring is around the corner (more like hiding in the closet and refusing to show itself), and all the pinks and pastels come out.

I prefer that darker tone in my day to day wardrobe, even for a spring outfit. Instead of a chunky knit cardigan, I’ve gone for a lighter one (similar here), and I’ve traded fluffy, cozy Ugg boots for a slip on sneaker from Michael Kors (available here).

I mentioned these shoes in a previous post & I am still eyeing the blush tone version. These are just too cute and casual with just enough of an edge for my liking. Full disclosure, it has probably been years since I put on, let alone purchased sneakers for everyday wear and not just to-the-park-with-the-dogs wear. But I love these slip ons. I really really do!

Other outfit details: coated jeans are Topshop Jamie  (surprise surprise) and here is a similar top from Free People, the top in this post was an Nsale purchase last year.
