Outfit: Late Summer Romper

And so begins a new era of my blog: homeownership. After months of searching, realizing where we wanted to be, being slaughtered by competition in multiple offers, we finally got our home. (And heeelloooo new shiny, err, well, green outfit of the day backdrops!)

I’ve honestly never been so excited to go to Home Depot, or West Elm and Home Goods. I’m dreaming of patio furniture and the moment I can sit outside in a lounge chair with my Kindle and a glass of rosé. My goal is to make that happen before the end of the summer.

Speaking of the end of summer. It’s still hot and hazy around Seattle. I’ve upped my skirt and dress game the past few weeks and while doing that I actually found a romper I like. Before I tried this romper from Tobi on, I hadn’t tried on a romper for about 2 years. The last time, I think I was in H&M and in the dressing room I had the romper on for a hot second before being horrified at how it fit and promptly decided that I would never put on another one.

But then I found this one, again inspired by the neckline and how it showed off my sternum tattoo, and I put it on, it fit well, and I loved the overall shape of it. The flowy, tied, open sleeves: they make me feel like I should be somewhere on the Mediterranean coast, basking in a summer sea breeze, rosé in hand.

I am not, however, basking in a summer sea breeze. I’m basking in a somewhat humid, smoky summer haze and this summer romper is the perfect outfit to stay cool in.

It’s a fun and playful piece in my closet. I never thought I’d find a romper I liked to wear after that dreadful time a few years ago.

The blog will be on a bit of a hiatus for the next two weeks as I’ll be busy with ALL the things. I can’t believe it’s almost the middle of August. I’m so looking forward to getting everything organized in our new home and decorating for Autumn. Is it wrong I’m already dreaming of pumpkin things and boots and sweaters? I mean, I love summer, I do, but autumn makes me feel all cozy all the time and the prospect of being able to decorate a home I own….oh the possibilities.

xx,
Steph
