Hello dear readers, it’s nearing the end of May and it’s time for another Femme Luxe Finery review post!
Per the same as the last post, this is another review in exchange for clothing from the Femme Luxe site. I loved everything that I reviewed in my last post so I was excited to get a few new items and try them.
As Washington state’s quarantine/isolation orders were extended through May, I’ve been daydreaming even harder about life after quarantine. Though I expect lots of changes and new way of life, I can’t wait to get out and see friends and family again. Or hop back on a plane. Oh how I’m dreaming of evenings wandering London.
My outfit picks for this post revolve heavily around all the things I can’t wait to do again, particularly around date night but I did choose one graphic t-shirt because 1) who doesn’t love a graphic t-shirt and 2) I have been living in sweatpants and joggers and t-shirts most of quarantine, despite what was a strong start to my work from home outfit style back in March. The effort that required to maintain simply was not worth it but I have been keeping up with improving my makeup skills and experimenting with some bolder colors. I’m loving red and bright pinks and have even improved my drawing cat eyeliner skills. It’s all about the small things right now.
Anyway, I hope everyone else is staying safe, especially as places start to open up.
My first pick is this black mesh overlay long sleeve mini dress. I am obsessed with the way this dress fits and especially the black mesh! As someone with back tattoos, I love to have the tattoos peeking out if possible. I paired this with some pink suede (*gasp* suede in Seattle!?) peep-toe heeled booties which makes the look a little edgier and not so formal as some classic heels would with this. But seeing as this is a black dress, you could really get away with any sort of heeled shoe. I also love the square neckline on this.
I was uncertain about this top, I’m not going to lie. I can’t remember the last time I wore a top like this, but I’m really happy with how it ended up fitting. This is a faux leather fabric corset top, but it’s buttery feeling. This can be glammed up extensively with some nice jeans and heels or even be more casual and dressed down with some flats….but either way this top packs a punch. I love the deep wine red color also, it’s a nice step away from all the black in my closet but still fits with my vibe. And honestly I love a corset top. I’ve loved them since I was a teenager.
If this t-shirt isn’t such a quintessential Steph slogan t-shirt, I don’t know what is. I have a massive t-shirt collection, whether it’s slogans or graphics….I have way. too. many. And probably won’t ever stop collecting them. I love t-shirts because you can either dress them up, like with a blazer, or dress them down…like I’ve done here with some casual black joggers. And this right here folks, is my quarantine outfit. Unless I’m supposed to be presenting on a video call that is. Then I put in a bit more effort. I honestly like so many of the t-shirts on the Femme Luxe site. I am such a sucker for a slogan or graphic tee.
And finally, my last pick was this black mesh panel v neck bodycon dress. The side panels intrigued me and I wasn’t sure how it would look on me. But again, I love the way this dress fits. Bodycon dresses can be pretty hit or miss and I’ve been legitimately pleased with the way all of the dresses I’ve received from Femme Luxe have fit. I love the mesh panel down the v-neck as well (another tattoo on the sternum peeking out), as well as the way the back is cut in a v-neck.
This dress already has plans post-quarantine.
And that’s it for this round of picks from Femme Luxe. It’s nearing June (my birthday month!) and I have been home since March 9th. I miss going out…and restaurants….and happy hour…and brunch and I can’t wait to have night out where I get to wear some of these picks.
