Hawaii. My winter escape to sunshine and marine life. For me, it doesn’t matter that every year I go to the same place with my family. We stay in the same condo complex and see the same friends and this is perfectly fine with me. I am baking in the sunshine while the dolphins spin by and the whales spout along the coast. This is the epitome of a mental reset for me.
It’s also one of the few times that I get to see my family in one place. We’re a displaced bunch at the moment but I like that Hawaii has become our gathering spot. Who wouldn’t?
This year we went to the Kohala Coast and did a hike and swam with dolphins in the wild. This peppered with the usual beach time, body boarding, mai tais and sunsets is why I keep coming back. We may go to the same bars and restaurants, there’s always something new to do.
