    An Oversized, Fuzzy Jumper

It’s finally back to work this week. Some of my team is still out so I expect it to be quiet until next week. I’m trying to remember the last time I had a week off and stayed home. 2017 was so full of traveling it felt somewhat strange to just be home with the dogs and my partner.…

A Flexible Approach to New Year Resolutions & My Goals for 2018

Happy New Year! It’s a cold morning in Seattle. We had a fairly low-key NYE: watched TV, listened to our neighbors light off mortars from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM (we live far outside of the city), and then went to bed. I didn’t even open my bottle of Moët & Chandon, which I’m thanking myself for this morning. It’s the New Year so I want to talk about resolutions. I approach resolutions a little differently ever since I started working at Microsoft. Every six months, my manager and I and any other team member) go over the priorities that were set 6 months previously and adjust and adapt where needed. Resolutions should be an ongoing conversation with yourself because things change, and much like at work, where I was 6 months ago could be completely different from where I am now.…

    A Holiday Look That Isn’t a Dress

I’m not a normal dresser when it comes to holiday wear. If I have an excuse to dress up I tend to go on the edgier side of things. Last year for my partner’s holiday party at a whisky distillery, I wore a faux leather dress that zipped up in the front with a plunging neckline. If you’re not so into the edgy look though, here’s a tamed down holiday look that isn’t a dress with just enough sparkle to feel festive.…

My Favorite Christmas Movies & TV Episodes

Every year I have a list of movies & TV episodes I have to watch in order for it to feel like Christmas. I watched a few of these the past few days while I was at home sick. Nothing makes me feel better than the warm and fuzzy feeling of the holidays.…

The Coziest Autumn & Winter Coat

When my partner and I went to Portland for a weekend in September we had to do some shopping. Most of the shops we went to we have in Seattle but that tax-free shopping is just too good to pass up. We quickly did a run through of Forever 21 because it was right there. Most of the items weren’t my style this time around but I couldn’t pass up this coat. Once I ran my fingers over it’s buttery softness, I knew I had to have it.…
