I’ve always wanted to wear blazers, but every time I put one on and look in the mirror, it just doesn’t quite feel right. Maybe it just feels too formal or too preppy, but every time I’ve bought one, it’s ended up in the donation bin or given to a friend.
I decided to try one more time with this velvet blazer. I think it’s the color and the velvet that makes it a bit edgier than a normal blazer, so perhaps that’s why I like this one better. I want to try dressing it down a bit with a t-shirt, a Depeche Mode one or The Smiths…something a bit alternative. Like me!

This winter has been emotionally brutal. I’m so glad it’s getting lighter and lighter out but so many people I know, myself included, are over the grey skies in Seattle right now. I’m so happy that a trip to Hawaii is back on the books next winter. A respite from the cold and grey and wet is really needed come January.
Over the weekend, the sun popped out for a bit and me and my partner were basking in its warmth for a few minutes. It was glorious. I’m so anxious for spring.
