August always makes me feel dreamy, and as I’ve said before, I think it’s the romantic in me. I have an idea of what August, September and October should look and feel like.
August hits, and (normally) there’s a slight chill when the wind blows, the light is an deep orange, indicating the earth is tilting away from the sun. Autumn is on the way, but summer still clings to the air. I hoard my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases, waiting until it’s September to break out the autumn gear I bought. Oh how I love this time of the year.
That autumn chill in the wind hasn’t hit yet though. We’re in a heat wave with the haze of what seems like a thousand wildfires causing the dreamiest light. The light combined with Lana del Rey’s new album playing somewhere, in the background, in the car on a drive, makes me feel like I’m in a music video. I’m thinking of late summer drives in Spokane, with the window down.
Global Eclipse Festival is also on my mind. That’s coming up faster than I know how to prepare. We just spent the weekend moving into our home and now I have a festival to think about prepping for. What a wonderful way to end summer though: all your friends, at a music festival with all your favorite artists (Shpongle!!! it’s been too long), watching the Eclipse, surrounded by people of the same mind, sharing in that ethereal moment.
I’ve been doing some minor prep for Eclipse however, mostly in the form of procuring kimonos from San Francisco during my trip. I found this dreamy lace kimono on Tobi’s website. Perfect for jamming out elegantly at a festival.
Yes, August is here. The end of summer is near. Grab a cocktail, soak up all the sun you can before autumn rolls around, and listen to some dreamy end of summer tunes.

I hope everyone (in the Northern Hemisphere) is having just as dreamy end to summer as I am. We’re mostly moved into our new home and I can’t wait to get settled and share it.
xx,
Steph
