The Moon and The Stars

This is one of the joys of second hand shopping that I’m coming to love: finding something that so perfectly fits your style, is good quality, and is otherwise hard to find. Like this Escada moon & stars belt.…

Keep Me Warm In the Winter Light

I’m getting very bored with winter. A few days ago it was sunny and in the mid-50s here in the Seattle area and it felt delightfully like spring. On an excursion after brunch, my partner and I stopped at Home Depot and I beelined straight for the seeds (I’m very anxious to start a garden), and upon checking the seed packets discovered everything should be planted in May around here. Hmph. Foiled for the time being and a nice reminder that it is still January. But, let’s move on and talk about these velvet palazzo pants.…

Outfit: Dog Days of Summer in a Wildfire Haze

August always makes me feel dreamy, and as I’ve said before, I think it’s the romantic in me. I have an idea of what August, September and October should look and feel like. August hits, and (normally) there’s a slight chill when the wind blows, the light is an deep orange, indicating the earth is tilting away from the sun. Autumn is on the way, but summer still clings to the air. I hoard my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases, waiting until it’s September to break out the autumn gear I bought. Oh how I love this time of the year.…

Outfit: Of Crop Tops & Summer Tattoos

(And now a brief break in all the UK posts, which will return soon!) Last summer I dragged my partenr out of bed and into Seattle for tattoo flash sale at True Love Art & Tattoo where one of my college classmates is an artist. It was a first come first serve deal for $50 tattoos that benefited a charity. You picked from a set of available designs and waited your turn and got your tattoo and then your were on your way. I decided  I wanted a sternum tattoo that was geometrical. It turned out great & the artist who did it was super quick and professional. I was excited.…

Outfit: Snow Day Essentials

The Seattle area shuts down when it snows 2 inches, that’s well known, but when it snows a foot in 24 hours?! Break out the hot chocolate and cozy blankets. This is a real snow day! Growing up in Spokane I am accustomed to driving in inches and inches of snow. I remember driving to my high school, 45 minutes away, when there was about 10 inches of snow on the road. School rarely ever shut down. I don’t think I remember having a snow day at all growing up.…

Outfit: Post-Election Retail Therapy

A few days after the US election, in my daze, I had a very clear moment of, “fuck this, I’m stressed. I know what I want that’ll make me feel better.” Because in this case it was the only thing I could think of that would help alleviate some of my anxiety. I popped over to Rag & Bone and I bought this sweater.…

Cozy in November

Lots of travel and running around happen this time of the year. For trips over Snoqualmie and Blewett Passes, I’ve accepted that Uggs are essential for me starting in late September. I stay warm & that’s all that matters. I wore tennis shoes once and I’m surprised my feet didn’t fall off, they were that frozen.…
