Layering With Leather

Putting on this leather bustier felt like I was strapping on armor…and it was kind of empowering.…

Autumn Style: Chunky Sweaters Over Dresses

When driving through the Scottish Highlands in June, I had an outfit packed away for a Highland OOTD shoot. It was, however, so unbelievably cold in Drumnadrochit that the dress I wanted to wear was not going to be enough. I had packed a sweater from Missguided and threw that on over the dress. It wasn’t anything new or revolutionary but I liked how it looked, and it opened up a whole new set of pairings in my closet.…

The Slow Summer Wind Down

My partner & I are finally settling into our new home, settling also comes with realizing the work around the home will never end, and I’m itching to start decorating for autumn even though it still doesn’t quite feel like autumn will ever come.…

Outfit: Late Summer Romper

And so begins a new era of my blog: homeownership. After months of searching, realizing where we wanted to be, being slaughtered by competition in multiple offers, we finally got our home. (And heeelloooo new shiny, err, well, green outfit of the day backdrops!) I’ve honestly never been so excited to go to Home Depot, or West Elm and Home Goods. I’m dreaming of patio furniture and the moment I can sit outside in a lounge chair with my Kindle and a glass of rosé. My goal is to make that happen before the end of the summer.…

Outfit: Dog Days of Summer in a Wildfire Haze

August always makes me feel dreamy, and as I’ve said before, I think it’s the romantic in me. I have an idea of what August, September and October should look and feel like. August hits, and (normally) there’s a slight chill when the wind blows, the light is an deep orange, indicating the earth is tilting away from the sun. Autumn is on the way, but summer still clings to the air. I hoard my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases, waiting until it’s September to break out the autumn gear I bought. Oh how I love this time of the year.…

Outfit: Of Crop Tops & Summer Tattoos

(And now a brief break in all the UK posts, which will return soon!) Last summer I dragged my partenr out of bed and into Seattle for tattoo flash sale at True Love Art & Tattoo where one of my college classmates is an artist. It was a first come first serve deal for $50 tattoos that benefited a charity. You picked from a set of available designs and waited your turn and got your tattoo and then your were on your way. I decided  I wanted a sternum tattoo that was geometrical. It turned out great & the artist who did it was super quick and professional. I was excited.…

Edinburgh Outfit: Military Jacket + Doctor Who Tee

All of Scotland makes for some dreamy damn photo shoots, let me tell you. The medieval street plan and 16th century architecture make Old Town Edinburgh one of my favorite cities. The courtyard outside our flat was also extremely picturesque. It was so cold in Scotland I had to buy a hat. It was Seattle winter cold. It wasn’t even that cold when I was there in October. On one of our last nights in the city, I broke out this vintage military style jacket I found at Portobello Market in London (another post on that soon!) and ran around with my sister taking photos before dinner.…
