The Essential Autumn Cocktail: Maple Bourbon Apple Cider

Around late September, when the real apple cider starts lining the grocery store’s shelves, it means one thing for this household: it’s officially maple bourbon apple cider season and let me tell you, this recipe is dangerously delicious. *This post is not sponsored by Maker’s Mark. It’s just the preferred whisky my partner & I regularly purchase.…

Autumn Style: Chunky Sweaters Over Dresses

When driving through the Scottish Highlands in June, I had an outfit packed away for a Highland OOTD shoot. It was, however, so unbelievably cold in Drumnadrochit that the dress I wanted to wear was not going to be enough. I had packed a sweater from Missguided and threw that on over the dress. It wasn’t anything new or revolutionary but I liked how it looked, and it opened up a whole new set of pairings in my closet.…

Outfit: Perpendicular Stripes & Clear Heeled Booties

Can you believe it’s November already? Where has this year gone? I’ve been recovering from being sick almost all of October and that’s just the worse. I’m anxious to get back into the routine of barre classes so that I don’t spend another winter not working out.…

Outfit: Forgotten Finds & New Pieces

I’m terribly notorious for buying clothes and then letting them sit in my closet, tag still on if new, or just untouched if it was bought at a thrift store. This cardigan has been staring at me for at least a year. I snatched it up at Goodwill but the few times I pulled it out and tried it with whatever outfit I had on, it just didn’t quite look right.…

Autumn Decor {Pretty Colors & Simple Things)

It is officially fall! Hooray! I went into Michaels the other day to buy some more yarn for some crochet projects I have going. Of course I left with more than yarn because whenever I enter a craft store in September, my inner homemaker comes out and I want to turn my apartment into a Pinterest pin. So I bought some items & made a cute little centerpiece that I can swap out materials in for different holidays.…

Fox(y Lady)

Over the weekend I was shopping at Nordstrom for some of my essentials & while picking out a new iPad case, my boyfriend pulled a Kate Spade iPhone case down, with a fox on it, and I had to have it. I love foxes. Kate Spade apparently has a whole foxy fall collection that is full of cute & stylish foxy things. That, if I’m quite honest, I would have bought the whole collection had it been sitting there in front of me. Here are some of the cute foxy things from Nordstrom. 1. Foxy Necklace / 2. Foxy Wrap Ring / 3. Foxy Patterned Socks / 4. Foxy Coin Purse / 5. Foxy Patterned Wallet / 6. Foxy Clutch / 7. Foxy Watch 8. Foxy Face Socks I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I’m prepping for a trip that will be here oh so quickly. Lots to share then. xoxo Steph Follow Me On:  TWITTER | INSTAGRAM…

Autumn Child

Well ya caught me. Last week I was bitching about Halloween candy being in stores and then today while out grocery shopping, Ryan & I passed the decorations to which I exclaimed, “Ooh, I want to buy all the things Halloween!” Ryan then promptly called me out. Whoops. I can’t help it though. Autumn is a profound season for me mentally. Perhaps because some of the most impressionable moments from my teen years were in Autumn, so a very deep nostalgia is felt when I smell the leaves & have Depeche Mode playing. It’s a romantic season. you could say I worship it. The pulling out of boots, sweaters and scarves; the purchasing of autumn scented candles; playing Celtic music playlists I’ve carefully curated for the season; these are my rituals. I wish I could explain the Celtic music one. I’ve always been drawn to the British Isles & their ancient past. I’ve romanticized it quite a bit in my head & though I’ve never been, I have this very clear idea of what autumn in the UK looks like. Though I’ll get to find that out for myself in a few weeks!
