Ryan and I have lived in various spots through the Puget Sound over the years and where we lived dictated which route we would take to visit his parents north of Wenatchee. Some years we would take Highway 2 over Steven’s Pass and some years it was I-90 to Cle Elum and over Blewett Pass. I’ve always been drawn to the British Isles, for years and years I wanted to travel to England, and my first trip abroad, across an ocean, was to Ireland. That trip only fueled my attraction to this area of the world. I can’t explain why I’m so drawn to it, my ancestors come from the region and I find the ancient history of the Celts and the Picts fascinating. Maybe it’s just my imagination gone wild with stories from history but I’m so wonderfully ensnared by the region, I feel like I could visit 100 more times and never get bored.…
The Seattle area shuts down when it snows 2 inches, that’s well known, but when it snows a foot in 24 hours?! Break out the hot chocolate and cozy blankets. This is a real snow day! Growing up in Spokane I am accustomed to driving in inches and inches of snow. I remember driving to my high school, 45 minutes away, when there was about 10 inches of snow on the road.
