It’s September 1! Already. Oh my goodness, and what better day to continue my UK travel posts than today in honor of Harry Potter! I adore London. It’s a city that from the moment I stepped foot there, it felt right. Finding my way around the city was easy, using the tube a breeze…having a pint in a pub, it’s all just…right. I had big plans this second time to the city, all my places marked off. The focus of the trip and whole reason my family and I were abroad was for Depeche Mode, so it was fitting in what I could around that evening. It felt like I didn’t have enough time to see all I wanted to see this trip…there’s so many places I want to visit still. London keeps calling me back. I guess I’ll have to go!…
And so begins a new era of my blog: homeownership. After months of searching, realizing where we wanted to be, being slaughtered by competition in multiple offers, we finally got our home. (And heeelloooo new shiny, err, well, green outfit of the day backdrops!) I’ve honestly never been so excited to go to Home Depot, or West Elm and Home Goods. I’m dreaming of patio furniture and the moment I can sit outside in a lounge chair with my Kindle and a glass of rosé. My goal is to make that happen before the end of the summer.…
August always makes me feel dreamy, and as I’ve said before, I think it’s the romantic in me. I have an idea of what August, September and October should look and feel like. August hits, and (normally) there’s a slight chill when the wind blows, the light is an deep orange, indicating the earth is tilting away from the sun. Autumn is on the way, but summer still clings to the air. I hoard my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases, waiting until it’s September to break out the autumn gear I bought. Last summer I dragged my partenr out of bed and into Seattle for tattoo flash sale at True Love Art & Tattoo where one of my college classmates is an artist. It was a first come first serve deal for $50 tattoos that benefited a charity. You picked from a set of available designs and waited your turn and got your tattoo and then your were on your way. I decided I wanted a sternum tattoo that was geometrical. It turned out great & the artist who did it was super quick and professional. I was excited.…
I’ve always been drawn to the British Isles, for years and years I wanted to travel to England, and my first trip abroad, across an ocean, was to Ireland. That trip only fueled my attraction to this area of the world. I can’t explain why I’m so drawn to it, my ancestors come from the region and I find the ancient history of the Celts and the Picts fascinating. Maybe it’s just my imagination gone wild with stories from history but I’m so wonderfully ensnared by the region, I feel like I could visit 100 more times and never get bored.…

The Seattle area shuts down when it snows 2 inches, that’s well known, but when it snows a foot in 24 hours?! Break out the hot chocolate and cozy blankets. This is a real snow day! Growing up in Spokane I am accustomed to driving in inches and inches of snow. I remember driving to my high school, 45 minutes away, when there was about 10 inches of snow on the road. School rarely ever shut down. I don’t think I remember having a snow day at all growing up.…
